Cold Hand

"Cold Hand" is still in the making.

My wife and I enjoy classic music in general and vocal music in particular.  There is a Chinese writing on the wall in our living room.  It says:

  Every echo is a song

  Every sound is music

In early 1980s I wrote a Chinese poem in a classical style even though I was not sure of its cadence. The translation is shown below.

Mist dims the fragrance of flowers.

Longing for you already infuses parting sorrow.

Your hands will be cold at dusk,

I wonderho would be there to warm them for you?

Later I added a melody to the poem and my wife, Isabel, composed the accompaniment.  Here is her rendition.

Cold Hand in Chinese

"The difference between a soprano and a wife is that a soprano can raise her voice without scream."  - Nai-hsien Mao
